Protection features
The Powered Digital Amplifier Module is equipped with over heat protection. The protection circuit monitors the temperature of the module, if the temperature goes too high the output voltage will be attenuated, if the temperature becomes higher continually the amplifier will turn off. Both the protections are self-resetting once the temperature has dropped to an acceptable level.
If output voltage is large and loads are in low impedance or short-circuit, the output current will exceed the max limit, the protection circuit will be active to turn off the amplifier. The amplifier shall self reset after the over load condition disappeared.
The heat sink is not capable of handling large long-term sine-wave output under the laboratory test. The protection circuit will decrease the output power if the large long-term sine-wave output exceeds 5s. The module has been tested at the extreme levels with the most demanded music without triggering the protection circuit.
The amplifier shall be in protection when voltages from the switch mode power supply exceed allowable range, until the voltage gets back to acceptable level.
The DC protection circuit tests the DC-voltage of the amplifier output terminator, prevent the speaker from damage. |
