Thermal design Traditional amplifiers (such as class A/B) have a rather high requirement of thermal design to keep the transistor junction temperature low. The Powered Digital Amplifier Module is based on the very efficient switch power technology providing high efficiency, which needs no special process on thermal design. See “Efficiency vs. output power”. The Powered Digital Amplifier Module is designed for musical purposes. The thermal design is therefore for large short-term power and lower continuous power handling. If heat sink temperature exceeds 65℃, the thermal output power control will be active; exceeds 80℃,the over heat protection will be triggered. For extreme low impedance loading requirements at output stage or high ambient temperature above 50℃, we recommend the use of an external heat sink, Otherwise the rated power of the module will be lowered. |
